Fair Shake Environmental Legal Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit law firm that believes all people and communities should have access to the tools of change, and that everyone has the right to make decisions about the air, water, and land where they live, work, and play.

LEGAL SERVICES & REPRESENTATION

We provide pro-bono and sliding scale legal services and representation to individuals, families, and organizations in the environmental legal services gap. We represent traditionally underserved clients who are directly affected by environmental harms and empower legal action despite our client’s economic means.

COMMUNITY DEMOCRACY & EDUCATION

We provide educational, technical, and legal assistance to communities seeking to implement policy and process change in their localities for environmental justice outcomes.

LEGAL TRAINING & EDUCATION

We recruit newly licensed attorneys as Resident Attorneys and provide training in environmental law and legal entrepreneurship. We also offer a rigorous Internship program for law and pre-law students on work in the public interest environmental law field.
