Clean air and clean water act give us the rights. We help people defend them and hold polluters accountable.
Environmental Risk
Our region of Ohio and Pennsylvania is home to some of the worst violators. Low income communities are suffering from these environmental risks at disproportionate rates. This negative feedback loop contributes to generational poverty and lack of decision making power perpetuates this vicious cycle even further. It is Fair Shake’s mission to end these cycles by increasing access to justice for those of modest means.
Protecting our rights
The air and water are fundamental to life, and as we degrade them we degrade our environment and we degrade ourselves. It has never been more important to follow our environmental laws.
The clean air act and the Clean water act give every citizen the right to enforce its laws when the government is not. We help underrepresented people become citizen enforcers so that they can take back their communities and their environments through the laws that already exist. We stand beside our clients, educating them along the way so that, together they can build stronger communities with leadership from within.
